Object types
Table of Contents, Glossary, Abbreviation, and Index
- Table of Contents
Applies only to PDF. Inserts a table of contents, list of figures, list of tables, or list of code at this position. You can set the “Level” of the table of contents. If you add it to a chapter that is not a table of contents chapter, it shows only the table of contents of that chapter.
- Glossary
Inserts a glossary. For details, see Glossaries.
- Abbreviation
Inserts an abbreviation list. For details, see Abbreviation Lists.
- Index
Applies only to PDF. Inserts an index at this position. For details, see Creating an Index.
For table of contents, list of figures, list of tables, list of code, and index chapters, the related paragraph is inserted automatically when you create the chapter.
Page Break, Blank Page, Space, and Horizontal Line
- Page Break
Applies only to PDF. Starts a new page.
- Blank Page
Applies only to PDF. Inserts a blank page.
- Space
Adds space between paragraphs. If you do not set the height, the space set in the theme is inserted.
- Horizontal Line
Inserts a line between paragraphs. The line style and the space above and below the line are set in the theme.
Grouping Multiple Paragraphs in a Box with Box Start and Box End
With the Box Start and Box End object paragraphs, you can group multiple paragraphs into one box area. Note, tip, and caution paragraphs emphasize only a single paragraph, so use a box to group multiple paragraphs, such as tables, images, and code.
You can set the box style in the theme. You can enter a label in the Box Start object, and you can also set the label style separately in the theme. If you do not enter a label, the label area is not shown.
Because of document structure limitations, MS Word files show a start line and the label at the box start position and an end line at the box end position. Other paragraphs in the box, such as tables, code, and images, are shown as they are.
Note the following.
When you add a Box Start object paragraph in the editor, a Box End paragraph is created right after it. An empty box area is created at first, so add the paragraphs to group between them.
If a heading paragraph appears in a box, the box is closed automatically just before it, and an unmatched Box End is ignored. In other words, you cannot put a heading paragraph in a box.
You cannot put a box in a box. If a Box Start paragraph follows another Box Start paragraph, it is ignored.
