If you use a browser extension such as AdGuard, the Installation Wizard might not appear, or license key issuance on the 3Rabbitz website might not work.
Starting the Installation Wizard
After you start ManualWorks, open the following URL in a web browser. The Installation Wizard appears.
http://<domain_name_or_IP_address>:1975
The default port number is 1975. To change it, see Changing Port Numbers.
If you installed ManualWorks on your personal computer, open the following URL.
http://127.0.0.1:1975
3RABBITZ_HOME refers to the directory where ManualWorks is installed.
If the Installation Wizard does not appear, check the log files in the 3RABBITZ_HOME/logs directory. If it does not appear only when you connect from another computer, check that port 1975 is allowed in the server firewall. For details, see Ports and Firewalls.

3
Set the Basics
In this step, you set the following items.
- Base URL
Enter the domain or IP address where ManualWorks is installed. It is used to build links.
- Data Directory
The directory that stores the database, fonts, images, PDF and EPUB files, and other data.
- Backup Directory
The directory where the database and images are backed up.
The installation directory (3RABBITZ_HOME) itself, the bin, logs, tomcat, and web directories directly under it, and their subdirectories are used by the product, so you cannot use them as the data or backup directory. You also cannot use a path that points to these directories through a parent path (..) or a symbolic link. Paths are compared by directory name, so a directory whose name only contains these letters, such as webapps, can be used. On Windows, the comparison is case-insensitive.
Entering the basics
For reliability, we recommend using a backup directory on a physically different disk from the data directory. The default backup directory is inside the data directory (data/backup), so if you keep the default, both directories are on the same disk. The Installation Wizard does not warn you when both directories are on the same disk, and you can move the backup directory after installation.
4
Create a User
Finally, create a user with the “Administrator” role. This user also gets the “Create Style”, “Write & Read”, and “Translator” roles.
