3Rabbitz Book editor(hereinafter called Editor) may operate in a different way than the existing word processors. In a word processor, you can freely edit the entire document but in this Editor, you can perform editing on an element basis. Element editing offers the following advantages.
It can achieve structured authoring.
Delicate history management is achieved.
Many users can edit the same document at the same time.
You can separate the contents from the style.
Element editing can be done in the following ways.
Insert a necessary element into the desirable location.
Change the content of an element.
Delete an unnecessary element.
Change the location of an element.
The following element types are supported.

0.2Adding an Element
By either clicking on the tool bar() or dragging and dropping, you can add a text, figure, table or object into the desirable location.
<Ctrl + I> or
<Ctrl + Alt + I> shortcuts1 can be used to add an element.
Refer to the following when you add an element.
In case of an empty document, you can use clicking or shortcuts only to add elements. Dragging and dropping can not be used.
When clicking or shortcuts are used, if there is an element that is selected, then it will be added below a selected element.
When clicking or shortcuts are used, if there is no element that is selected, then it will be added at the end.
If you press the
<Esc>key while dragging and dropping it, then dragging will be canceled.
0.3Selecting an Element
Most of tasks occurring in editor occur after selecting an element. So, it provides various ways to select an element.
By mouse clicking, you can select an element. Along with mouse clicking, you can press the
<Shift>key to select multiple elements.
<Down(↓)>keys, you can select an element and change the selected element. You can press the
<Shift>key at the same time to select multiple elements.
<Page Up>, and
<Page Down>keys, you can change the selected element.
<Ctrl + A>shortcuts, you can select all the elements.
If you press the
<Esc>key, then your element selection will be cancelled.
0.4Editing an Element
A new element is inserted in Editing Mode and the existing element is switched to Editing Mode by clicking on the
<Edit> link in the right bottom of the selected element or double clicking the element or press the
In Editing Mode, click on the <Save> button in the right bottom or press the
<Ctrl + S>shortcut to save the content.
In Editing Mode, click on the <Cancel> link in the right bottom or press the
<Esc>key to switch to Normal Mode without saving the changes.
In Editing Mode, you can not edit other elements.
In case of Text Elements, you can select many of them to edit them altogether.
Select multiple elements.
Switch to the Editing Mode.
Save the contents.
Heading 1~5, Note, Tip, Caution and Proofreading can’t be combined with each other for editing.
In this element, you can enter the text which is the basis for document editing.
You can prepare a figure or table element in the same way as when you prepare a text element.
Text Element Types
For more details on text element types and how to prepare the contents, refer to the Text Element.
By using your mouse in the drop down list in the right bottom or using the
<Ctrl + /> shortcut without using your mouse, you can select a text element type.
Unlike a word processor, you can not set the font color for a specific text string or make them bold faced. Instead, you can grant a meaning to a specific text string and use Theme to apply a style to it. This is called character type.
The main character types are shown as follows.
Proofreading(This character type is only for proofreading and it is only visible in editor. It is invisible in Web Viewer, PDF, EPUB and etc.)
You can set the character type in the following order.
Select a text string where the character type is set.
By dragging your mouse or using the
<Shift + Left>and
<Shift + Right>shortcuts, you can select a text string.
Select a character type in the upper left side to the text editor.
You can use the
<Ctrl + Space>shortcut to set it as well.
You can delete a character type in the following ways.
To delete, double click on a text string where the character type should be deleted.
Place a cursor on the text string where the character type should be deleted and use the
<Ctrl + Space>shortcut to delete it.
You can set the following types of links.
Select your book’s chapter, heading 1~5, figure and table that you are preparing.
Enter an URL.
You can upload file. and select uploaded file link. The file is managed by the user. The link is inserted into multiple location.
Enter an email address.
An item that can be worked on in the tool bar of text editor can be more quickly processed by using the
<Ctrl + Space> shortcut.

You should pay attention to the following when using footnotes.
A footnote is handled as a footer, but inline comments(character type) are displayed in their original locations.
Line change is not allowed.
You can’t add a footnote to the content in your footnote.
In editor, footnotes are displayed right below an element, but in Web Viewer and EPUB, it is displayed as an endnote and in PDF, it is displayed as a footnote.
Adding an Inline Image
The following buttons() or icons are inserted by using the <Inline Image> link.
If you use this function to insert a large image then the screen won’t be able to display it properly.
Inserting Special Character
Without using your mouse, you can use the shortcuts to insert special characters.
Move your cursor to the location where you want to insert a special character.
After pressing the
<Ctrl + Space>shortcut, go to the Context Menu and select “Add Special Character”.
Using the directional key, select a special character to insert and press the
If you click on Clear Format(), all the settings related to character types, links, index and footnotes will be deleted.
Undo and Redo
You can undo or redo the previous editing works.
In the text editing tool bar, click on the Undo() button and the Redo() button.
<Ctrl + Z>and the
<Ctrl + Y>shortcuts.
You can set a figure element in one of the three ways.
Importing from My Computer
You can upload a figure file stored in your computer.
In a Google Chrome web browser, you can use the
<Ctrl + V> shortcut to add a figure from the clipboard.
Importing from the Web
Enter the URL for a figure existing in the web.
Importing Others from the Web
You can insert various types of multi media existing on the web such as video, google charts and so on.
For instance, if you enter the following code in “Others Source” then a Youtube video will be inserted.

Once an element is registered for “Import Others from Web”, then it will be displayed as a link in the PDF and the EPUB files .
You should pay attention to the following when using a image file.
Only the most popular file formats such as PNG, GIF and JPEG are supported.
Web Wiewer supports animated GIF files but PDF only shows a specific frame.
Some JPEG files may not be inserted into a PDF file on your first try. In this case, try again after using an image editing program to change the format and save it.
Placing a Text Element Next to a Figure Element
Follow the below procedures when you want to place a text element next to a figure element.
After selecting a figure element, click on the <Option> link in the right bottom.
Using the “Figure Float” option, select Left or Right.
Click on the <Save> button in the <Option> panel.
The text elements with the same height as the figure will be located next to the figure. If you do not want to place the element next to a figure, then you need to insert a “Clear Float” Object Element in front of the element.
Creating a Table
When you create a table for the first time, you need to set the following items.
Number of Header Rows
Number of Footer Rows
Number of Rows
Number of Columns
In the editing process, you can change these items.
Changing the Table Structure
By clicking on the button above the table and left to the table, you can easily add rows and columns.
You can use the context menu to do the following: adding a footer or header row, deleting a row or column, splitting or merging cells, and changing the cell text alignment. The context menu can be launched in the following ways.
Select a cell to work on.
By dragging your mouse, you can select multiple cells.
By clicking on the context menu () in the right bottom of the selected cell, you can launch the context menu.
In addition, you can perform cutting, pasting, copying and deleting of cell contents.
Clicking on the context menu button, the context menu will appear.
You can select multiple cells and configure them at the same time.
In the context menu, select desirable tasks.
Cutting can be done by pressing
<Ctrl + X>, copying can be done by pressing
<Ctrl + C>, pasting can be done by pressing
<Ctrl + V>, and deleting can be done by pressing
<Delete> or the
Moving Cursor between Cells
Using the directional key and the
<Shift + Tab> shortcuts, you can move cursor to a desirable cell.
Setting the Column Width
The table column width is automatically determined in the following two ways.
The column width is determined based on the contents.
All the column widths are set to the same width.
You can select a method for setting the table column width in the following order.
After selecting a table element, click on the <Option> link in the right bottom.
Set the “Table Layout” option to “Auto” or “Fixed”.
Click on the <Save> button.
An object element is used to serve the special purposes such as adding an blank page or space. The followings are supported.
Table of Contents, Index
Table of Contents
This type is only applicable to PDF. Table of Contents, List of Figures, List of Tables are inserted into the desirable locations. You can set the “Heading Level” for the Table of Contents.
This type is only applicable to PDF. Index list is inserted into the desirable location.
When you create chapters such as Table of Contents, List of Figures, List of Tables and Index, the element is automatically inserted into them.
Page Break, Blank Page, Space, Horizontal Line
This type is only applicable to PDF. A new page starts at the location selected.
This type is applicable to PDF. A blank page is inserted.
A space is added between elements. If you do not set the height, then the space with the height set in the Theme is inserted.
A line is inserted between elements. The line shape and the margin from the above/below element are set in Theme.

0.5Moving an Element
You can move your element in the following order.
Select an element to move.
You can select multiple elements and move them at the same time.
After clicking on the Move Button() in the left top of the selected element, drag it into the desirable location.
While moving it, you can press the
<Esc>key to cancel movement.
If you want to move it to another chapter, then please use Copying and Pasting Elements.
You can move the entire section as well.
Select a heading element.
Click on the Fold() button in the left to the heading.
You can also use the
After clicking on the Move Button() in the left top of the selected element, drag the element into the desirable location.
Select “Yes” for the question, “Do you want to move the entire section after heading?”
0.6Deleting an Element
You can delete an element in the following order.
Select an element to delete.
You can select multiple elements and delete them at once.
Click on the <Delete> link in the bottom of the selected element.
You can also use the
0.7Copying and Pasting Elements
You can copy elements in the following order.
Select an element to copy.
You can select multiple elements and copy them at once.
Click on the <Copy> link in the right bottom of the element.
You can use the
<Ctrl + C>key to copy them as well.
The Copy Mark will appear in the right top of the copied element.
You can paste copied elements in the following order.
If you select an element or place a mouse cursor on it, the <Paste> link will appear.
If you click on the <Paste> link, the element will be added below it.
You can use the
<Ctrl + V>shortcut to paste it as well.
You can paste copied elements from one editor to another editor. If you want to paste it into an empty document without any element, then you can use the
<Ctrl + V> shortcut.
You can set the element options as follows.
Select an element where the option will be applied to.
Click on the <Option> link in the right bottom of an element.
After changing the option in the <Option> panel, click on the <Save> button.

Scope of Application
You can exclude an element from a specific view type.
You can apply it to all types of elements and you can select multiple elements and configure them altogether at once.
This option is used to place a text element next to a figure element.
This option is used to set the table column width.
Regardless of the previous ordered list, the list number starts at 1.

0.9Undo and Redo
You can undo or redo all the tasks.
In the top of the editor, click on the Undo() button and the Redo() button.
You can use the
<Ctrl + Z>and the
<Ctrl + Y>shortcuts.
If you close an editor or refresh a web browser, then you can’t redo or undo the previous tasks. In this case, use the history function to recover the previous contents.
