Managing Resource Directories

Use directories to share resources(templates, files, figures, inline images, and labels) with other users. Access is controlled per directory, not per resource.

Creating Directories

Create a directory as follows.

  1. In the Resource menu, go to the menu(Template, File, Figure, Inline Image, or Label) where you want to create and manage a directory.

  2. Click the <1Create Directory> link.

  3. Enter the “Basics” such as the name.

  4. Click the button.

Changing Access Permissions

Only the directory leader can change the access permissions of a directory. 2 indicates the directory leader.

Change the access permissions of a directory as follows.

  1. In the Resource menu, go to the menu(Template, File, Figure, Inline Image, or Label) that contains the directory whose access permissions you want to change.

  2. Select the directory, and then choose <4Update Access Control> from the context menu.

  3. Set or change the users of the directory as directory leaders or members.

Only the directory leader can also use <3Update Directory>.

Adding Child Directories

The directory leader can create a child directory by choosing <Add Child Directory> from the context menu of a top-level directory. You cannot create a child directory inside a child directory, and the <Update Access Control> menu does not appear for child directories.

Deleting Directories

Only the directory leader can 5delete a directory, and only a directory that has no resources and no child directories can be deleted. You cannot delete the /root directory.

Moving Resources to Another Directory

You can change the directory that a resource belongs to. Drag the <6drag_indicator> icon of the resource and drop it onto the target directory.
