Setting the HTTP Session Timeout

The HTTP session timeout of Apache Tomcat, which ManualWorks uses, is 30 minutes. Change it as follows.

  1. Open the 3RABBITZ_HOME/tomcat/conf/web.xml file.

  2. Change the value of the session-timeout tag, in minutes.

<session-config>
    <session-timeout>30</session-timeout>
</session-config>
  1. Restart ManualWorks.

If users do not close the web browser, ManualWorks keeps fetching notification data, so the HTTP session stays alive regardless of the setting above. To apply the setting even when the web browser stays open, enter the following command in the Console.

set-preference -name SUPPORT_NOTIFICATION_WATCH -value false

However, with this option, users are not told about new notifications. They must refresh the <Notifications> panel in the sidebar.
